Post subject:  where can I find cello plans?

I have just completed a U-bass and the tone is good but it requires an amp to be useful. I have heard that many Bluegrass groups use a cello tuned as a bass. I want to build a cello-like instrument to play bass in small jams. I need the cello measurements as a basis for my build.
As Mark Twain said," Get the facts then distort them as you please".
The first thing I need is the proper dimensions and then I can simplify it to match my skill. who knows, it might actually work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best choice is The Strad, the magazine for string players. They have a large collection of posters which are documents of various instruments. All the important dimensions, outlines, archings, etc.

For bass, I'd recommend the Servais, its an unadulterated cello from when bass ruled.

Bands like Crooked Still rock!

Rushad Eggleston, who plays cello in that band, is a wild man.
